Very long (e.g., several yards/meters) and narrow (a width of 0.25 to 3 inches/6 to 75 mm is typical) flexible strips or bands evenly covered on one side with a pressure-sensitive adhesive material, designed to attach objects or cover a surface. Most adhesive tape is made of woven fabric (e.g., cotton), plastic, paper, and/or other materials. Adhesive tape is used for directly covering small wounds and fixing dressings; it may also be applied in several layers, one overlapping the other (i.e., strapping), to cover and exert pressure on a body part (e.g., a limb). Clinical adhesive tape is usually supplied in rolls for multiple, separate uses on a single or multiple patients.
Backing material is cotton and coated with zinc oxide natural glue and hot melt glue, provides strong fixation, 100% cotton of carrier allows slin perspiration, tears easily by hand.
